The KitKat update to the Android OS brings 

some visual changes, including more 

immersive 

graphics, as well as deeper integration with 

Google's intelligent assistant, Google Now, 

among other changes and improvements.


Here's a list of the top-10 new features of Android 4.4.KitKat:



1.A smarter caller ID:

The new phone app automatically prioritizes your 

contacts based on the people you talk to the most. 

You can also search for nearby places and 

businesses, your contacts, or people in your Google 

Apps domain.

Whenever you get a call from a phone number not 

in your contacts, your phone will look for matches 

from businesses with a local listing on Google Maps.

This is new Interesting feature.The book you're 

reading, the game you're playing, or the movie 

you're watching — now all of these take center 

stage 

with the new immersive mode, which automatically 

hides everything except what you really want to

As we reported a few days back, Android 4.4 brings new 

unified messaging app, with Hangouts getting SMS and 

MMS integration, in addition to offering instant messaging 

through Google accounts (erstwhile Google Talk). Hangouts 

now also allows users to share their location and send 

animated GIFs.

While listening to music on your device, or while projecting 

movies to Chromecast, you’ll see beautiful full-

screen album and movie art when your device is locked. 

You can play, pause, or seek to a specific moment.

Android KitKat has a better support for cloud printing.

Users will be able to print photos or documents wirelessly

through any printer that is connected to Google Cloud

Google has also introduced the cloud printing framework to

developers so that they can use this utility in the apps that

they create.


6.Screen recording




Android 4.4 offers support for screen recording, and

includes a screen recording utility that lets users capture

video as they use the device and store it as an MP4 file. This

also allows developers, reviewers and end-users to create

walkthroughs and tutorials for apps, testing materials, and

marketing videos, among others.



7. Device Management Built-in:



Ever lost your phone at a hotel or under the pillow? It can

be really hard to find your phone. But Android KitKat will

take care of it as it has Android Device Manger built right

into it. Now you can track your phone via GPS and if you

have lost it under your pillow you can just get it to ring

from

the web application.


8.Chrome WebView

Android apps that feature web content now use Chrome to

render web components accurately and quickly. Chromium

WebView supports HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. It

supports most of the HTML5 features available in Chrome

for Android 30. 

9.Step detector, counter


Android 4.4 brings platform support for two new composite

sensors,step detector and step counter allowing users to

track steps when they're walking, running, or climbing

stairs, via apps and hardware that offer the feature. The

Nexus 5 offers the two sensors and Google says it's working

with its chipset partners to bring them to new devices as

soon as possible.
